The Liebster Award

Hello! I was nominated for the Liebster Award by erika! Thank you for giving me something fun to do, haha. I love making these kinds of posts because they’re more lighthearted.

1) Make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
2) Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post.
3) Nominate 5-10 other bloggers and notify them of this in one of their posts.
4) All nominated bloggers are to have less than 200 followers.
5) Answer the 10 questions posed by your nominator, create 10 questions for your nominees to answer (or, you can repeat the same questions.)
6) Copy these rules into your post.

What gives your life meaning?

For sure, it’s my relationships with those around me. The relationships with my family, friends, mentors, teachers, etc are some of the most important aspects of my life. Being an extrovert, I am nothing without the people around me, especially those who are closer. They give me energy and happiness. When I am isolation, I’m just a lump. My loves, passions, and goals also make my life meaningful and vibrant.

What has brought you joy and happiness lately?

My best friends, meeting new people, trying new things, and being away at college! I’ve had a lot of fun while learning a lot of things, and it’s been a great time.

How old were you when you felt like an adult?

I think every year of my life I felt like I was grown up or mature even when I really wasn’t (like when I was 10), but in terms of adulthood, I still haven’t really reached that point. I’m 19 now, but I probably won’t feel like an adult until I’m 25 or something.

What is something you ask yourself all the time, that no one else asks you?

“What do you really want in life?” and “What would make you happy?”

Why did you start your blog?

I’m just going to copy and paste this one because I’ve answered it at least 5 times, haha.

“Like I’ve said many times, I started the blog because I wanted to try something new as I started a new life at college, and I wanted a space to put all of my ideas and share my writing with a community of people who relate to me (without being self-conscious, hence the anonymity). Over time, this blog has also become a motivator for me to write more often and with more variety, so I’m extremely glad I started this, and extremely grateful to everyone who has ever liked, followed, commented, or supported me in any way through this blog (or even just glanced at it).

This blog started as an experiment that I wasn’t sure if I would continue, but it has become a successful support system in its own way, a motivator consisting of small orange dots and stars and little icon faces that I am happy to see every day (and all appearing in such little time, wow). Not only does it motivate me to write often, it motivates me to write more things outside of my comfort zone and try different styles and topics that I’ve never touched before and never thought I would touch.

So, I guess this answer sort of went from why did I start blogging to why do I continue to blog. To summarize this, I started this blog as an experiment/new thing and as an anonymous outlet for my work. I continue to blog because it is a motivator in terms of writing frequency, writing variety (style, length, genre), and it lifts my mood in small ways every day.”

What change in the world would you like to see in your life time?

Oh so many things. The amount of people who care about and believe in global warming and the decrease of the effects of climate change, the dwindling of discrimination based on race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, etc, the lowering of sensitivity to non-political correctness, higher literacy rates, among many more things I can’t think of right now. There are also many more specific to America, but I won’t get into it.

How are you helping bring about that change?

I’m not doing the biggest things yet because I’m not in a position to, but through my everyday words and actions, I believe I am helping.

Who is your hero?

Poetry-wise, Edgar Allan Poe and William Wordsworth. In general, I don’t really have a specific one–anyone that is doing something to help people and the world. Maybe my old AP Lit teacher. She’s the best.

What are you passionate about?

Public health, creative writing, poetry specifically, and management.

What is something you are grateful to have learned the hard way?

1) How to be independent and resourceful.
2) How to make myself happy rather than care about what others think.

What do you find inspiring?

Those that have worked hard by themselves or against tough circumstances to get to their definition of success and happiness in life. Those who are open, accepting, forgiving. Those who help others with mostly non-selfish intentions (we’re all at least a little selfish in everything we do, biologically, haha).

The questions for them are the same as the ones above that I answered, so if you bloggers have any extra time on your hands, have fun answering them!

Q&A #2

Second Q&A! Once again, based on this post by Ramexabella.

I’ll be breaking up the question sets into different posts because it’d be freakishly long otherwise. So this one is the set of questions ateenagediaryonline asked Ramexabella.

1) What is your favorite book into movie adaptation and why?

Harry Potter. This does not need to be explained.

2) Which is your favorite album ever?

Human by Three Days Grace. (By the way, I like almost all genres of music; pop, rock, metal, classical, you name it, I probably like it… Not a huge fan of country though.)

3) Who’s your role model?

I don’t really have one right now, but there are a ton of people I respect and admire very much including my best friend. In terms of poetry, Edgar Allan Poe and William Wordsworth.

4) What is your favorite quote?

I have a few. My favorite life quotes are:

  • “Don’t let people make you feel bad or guilty for living your life. It is your life. Live it the way you want.”
  • “I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life–and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”
  • “Your present situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come.”

My favorite poetry quote is in my About section: “Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.” William Wordsworth, Lyrical Ballads

5) What is your clothing style?

It depends how I’m feeling, but I wear a lot of white, a lot of blue, and a lot of light colors. I also wear cardigans all the time and favor lace tops and tanks. I usually wear black leggings or shorts and occasionally jeans. I guess it’s usually semi-casual, but slightly girly in a way, at least compared to how I used to dress.

6) Do you wear makeup?

Nope! I find it to be too much trouble, and I would personally rather people see my actual face and get used to that instead of a beautiful impermanent mask that isn’t really me.

7) Which is your favorite blog?

I love a lot of them though I sadly have not had time to catch up with them. Among my favorites are Blair King’s People, Life, and Things, E.I. Wong’s A Narcissist Writes Letters to Himself, Candice Louisa Daquin’s thefeatheredsleep, and In Noir Velvet.

8) Who’s your favorite youtuber?

Hm. There are way too many I like. Among my favorites are videogamedunkey, Sky Williams, jkfilms/jkparty/jknews, IISuperwomanII, Cryaotic, MyHarto, UsTheDuo, and Jayesslee. I assure you, there are many more that I love, haha.

9) What is your opinion of ’emo’ or ‘scene’ people?

I don’t have much of an opinion. Neutral? They can do what they want as long as they don’t hurt themselves or others.

10) What is the one thing you would love for Christmas?

Happiness, freedom, and love.

Thank you for reading! I’ll probably have a few more Q&As rolling out soon. If you have anything you want to ask me, click here or comment!

Q&A #1

Hello everyone! I saw this post by Ramexabella, and I liked a lot of the questions, so I decided to answer some of them myself! I won’t call it an “award” since I wasn’t really individually nominated or anything, but it looked like it’d be a fun post to do!

I’ll be breaking up the question sets into different posts because it’d be freakishly long otherwise. So this one is the set of questions Casual Procrastinator asked Ramexabella (which I will take to answer mwahahaha):

1) What encouraged you to start your blog?

I was headed to college at the time and I wanted to try something new. I’ve always considered blogging, but wasn’t really proactive about finding a good platform for it. I also wanted a space to share my writing with others and something to motivate me to write more. I’ve grown to love blogging very much, and it has been a bigger part of my life and growth as a writer than expected, which is why I make it a priority even in the midst of my busy college life.

2) How do you personally define love?

Well this is hard. Love is a lot of things, but I think it is the ultimate happiness in life. It brings the worst pain your could feel, but if you get past that you’ll have love so strong that nothing can beat it. Wow, that was cliche. But anyway, I’ve been in love for many years, and it has been a rollercoaster but it’s so worth it. I personally believe love is the best thing you can have; it certainly keeps me going through the darkest times. This doesn’t have to be romantic love. Any source of love is precious. I guess I sort of didn’t define love, but I think love is defined differently for everyone. In general though I suppose it’s the unconditionally willingness to be loyal, to protect, to trust someone and to be by their side forever (that was more in the romantic sense, I think).

3) What is your favorite food?

Noodles of any kind, especially ramen. Thinking about all those different types of noodles makes me salivate.

4) When did you feel like your blog made it? Or are you still dubious to whether it’s worthy?

Hm. I don’t think there’s a really big “made it” moment or anything, but I can honestly say I felt like I made it when I got 1 follower, hahaha. It was amazing to me that anyone at all would want to read my writing consistently, and I was just happy that someone was interested and that maybe my words do reach people. Even if they don’t understand my poetry or interpret it the way I do, they enjoy it or maybe relate to it, and they want to keep reading. That just made me really happy.

5) What’s your favorite video game?

League of Legends is probably number one, but I also play a lot of indie games such as Bastion and FEZ. I also love Terraria, Skyrim, and Vindictus.

6) Do you own a car? What type?

I don’t own a car yet because I’m a poor college student, but I hope to have a nice Lexus someday… and then maybe a Benz when I’m older, haha.

7) How do you take your coffee?

I actually don’t like coffee… I prefer hot tea!

8) What does a blog need to have to attract you to it?

I like good, thoughtful writing or poetry. That’s number one, and number two is probably a clean or at least organized look.

9) How did you come up with your blog’s name?

blliteration is my username and All Alliteration is my blog name. I was trying to be clever. All Alliteration just sounded sort of catchy, and it alliterated which was my goal, and I thinkk my other name choices were taken. I chose the handle blliteration because it’s like alliteration but with a “b” which is the first letter of my name.

10) How long have you been blogging?

Hm. Let me find my first post. My first post was July 30th, 2015, but my first real post was July 31st, 2015. So about 2.5 months now!

Thank you for reading! I’ll probably have a few more Q&As rolling out soon. If you have anything you want to ask me, click here or comment!
